For three days from September 19 to 21, the youth Club Māja in Riga welcomed young people aged 16 to 25; accompanied by mentors from Latvia and Greece, they learned new skills, shared their experiences in job hunting and developed the skills necessary for future employment. The workshop took place within the framework of the Erasmus+ project YES (Youth Employment Skills).

With the help of mentors, the participants learned in detail how to prepare an efficient CV and motivational letter, how to successfully prepare for their first job interview and reduce anxiety, how to confidently present their skills to potential employers, and how to use artificial intelligence tools to assist in job hunting and skill development.

The workshops presented an active and friendly environment; young people shared their experiences, discussed the challenges of the labor market and practically tested their acquired knowledge. Over the course of three days, in addition to new knowledge, they also gained valuable contacts and, most importantly, confidence in their abilities.

According to the participants, the practical activities and discussions were the most valuable, helping them to understand different processes and promoting future ideas. One of them stated that: “These workshops gave me a real kick. I finally realized how to improve my CV and what to say during a job interview. The boost in confidence is priceless”.

We want to thank all the participants for their enthusiasm and to the mentors from Latvia and Greece for sharing their vast knowledge and experience.
