International Cooperation for Youth Growth: Recommendations for Employers on Internship Implementation
The foundation “Science and Innovation Park” (ZIP), in close partnership with the Greek organization “In-Planet”, has successfully collaborated on the YES (Youth Employment Skills) project, an Erasmus+ initiative. This international synergy has resulted in a practical methodological resource: “Internship Implementation: Recommendations for Employers.”
By combining Latvian and Greek expertise in youth employment, we have developed a tool designed to help employers seamlessly integrate young talents (ages 16 to 30) into today’s evolving work environment. Originally developed as a joint effort, this material is now available to provide organizations with international quality standards tailored for local impact.
Why is this resource essential for your organization?
Working with Generation Z requires new skills from both the youth and the employer. Our jointly developed guidelines will help you:
- Establish a Quality Internship Process: From setting clear objectives to achieving a productive conclusion.
- Provide Mentorship and Support: How to become a leader who inspires growth rather than just managing tasks.
- Adapt Communication Styles: Practical advice on fostering the open and direct dialogue that Gen Z values most.
- Implement Modern Tools: Leveraging digital environments and flexible approaches to enhance intern performance and loyalty.
The goal of the YES project is to bridge the gap between the educational environment and the real-world labor market. We believe that by utilizing these recommendations, both private companies and municipal institutions can build a sustainable and inclusive workplace culture.
Let’s build the future of work together!
